Meet John: owner, instructor, gear hauler, maintenance man and all-around SCUBA fanatic.

I've been scuba diving for about 15 years and when retired I decided to pursue my passion of sharing the excitement and joys of scuba diving with as many people as I can.

​

After years of snorkeling, my wife, Amy, and I became open water certified in 2012 after my deployment to Iraq. Once our course was complete, we rented some gear and walked into the ocean off of the coast of Maui. At that point, my life was forever changed.

 

I (we) became obsessed with diving and all of our future travel plans seemed to revolve around getting back into the water. Of course with the addition on a new hobby came a growing interest in sharing our adventures with our friends and, well really, anyone who would listen. Yep, we became the "SCUBA couple".

Sharing our love for the underwater world naturally progressed into more training, underwater photography and videography. Together we earned the Advanced Open Water, Rescue and Master Scuba Diver certifications along with several specialties. 

​

In 2025, I began my PADI Professional certification track and am certified as anOpen Water Instructor. This allows me to teach all of the basic PADI courses from Bubblemaker through Divemaster. I am also certified to teach several specialty courses including Enriched Air and Underwater Photography.
